Mike Greene, AIA

Architect

Mike Greene is a licensed Architect. He joined the firm in 2007, and has lived in Alaska for over 50 years. At WEI, he has provided clients with Contract Manager, Project Manager and Owner's Representative For Quality Acceptance services. He has extensive experience working on the facilities at the Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau Empire headquarters, UA campuses throughout Southeast, Harborview and Auke Bay elementary schools renovations, construction of Dimond Park Aquatic Center, Thunder Mountain High School, and the USFS Forestry Sciences Lab on Auke Lake, as well as CBJ capital construction projects -among many others. He often conducts pre-blast surveys, roof inspections, special inspections, and monitors pile driving.

Mike particularly enjoys the construction phase of any project, as he appreciates the fast pace of working on an active construction project and the opportunity to quickly address challenges in a team setting. During the design phase, Mike enjoys applying his 30 years of experience in design and construction to his work, collaborating with Owners, Designers and Contractors to address and resolve issues, and ensure that what comes to be through the build process is in accordance with what the Contract Documents show.

Outside work, Mike is the father of six grown children, and an avid fisherman who also enjoys hiking and camping. He is proud to resolutely fish the Derby no matter the weather.

Mike and his family are longtime participants in Juneau's Litter Free Clean-Up Days (as custodians of Sunshine Cove), and are supporters of the American Cancer Society. Mike is also a former Alaska Disaster Responder / Damage Assessment Evaluator with the Alaska Disaster Responder Program.
