Project Engineer / Inspector

John Stone started working for Wilson Engineering, Inc. in 2017, and in the following years served our clients by providing Owner's Representative / Project Manager Services, Quality Acceptance / Inspection services, and Materials Testing services. John has managed numerous projects including construction of roads, subdivisions, utilities, docks and harbors, and airports. He most recently served as Contract Administrator and Inspector for the complicated Douglas Highway Water Main Replacement, Phase 2 while providing CA duties to the equally complicated Columbia Boulevard, Poplar Avenue, and Mendenhall Boulevard Reconstruction Project. In 2019, John served as the Lead Inspector on the Douglas Highway Water Main Replacement Re-bid (Phase 1).

Before going to work for Wilson Engineering, Inc., John spent 5 years working as a Construction Inspector in Alaska and Maine. Prior to that John served the City and Borough of Juneau as first Engineering Director, followed by Port Director. As Port Director, John was named Engineer of the Year by the local ASCE Chapter in 2010.

John has been a Registered Professional Engineer in Alaska for over 30 years. John is charismatic, detail oriented, and has exceptional communication and project documentation skills. He provides our clients with exceptional quality work, utilizing his knowledge and experience of over 36 years in the engineering and construction industry to meet our clients' needs.

  • ACI Certified Concrete Field Testing Technician, Grade 1
  • US Transportation Worker Identity Credential (TWIC)

When John is not working, he likes spending time with his partner, sailing, and traveling.
